Who We Are

Connected Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving outcomes for high needs children through better family engagement from districts, schools and community based organizations. Decades of research from the Chicago Consortium for School Research (at the University of Chicago) shows that strong engagement of all families is required for sustained school improvement (student outcomes). Our experience shows that districts struggle to engage high needs families due to the barriers of language, adult literacy, and access. Connected Community is focused on overcoming barriers for high needs families throughout the United States, giving all families an equitable opportunity to support their children’s education.
